A BLACKBURN florist is selling living black roses in celebration of Hallowe’en.
Japonica Florists, in Fleming Square, is selling the real stems, which have been spray painted black, for £4 each in special gift wrapping.
Florists Joanne Hoole and Louise King said they got the idea earlier in the year when a bride asked them to transform living white roses into gold ones for a floral display at her wedding.
The pair say the roses live just as long as unsprayed ones and have been a real hit at the Blackburn store.
Joanne said: “They look very effective and striking.
“We’ve had lots of people come in to grab one as a Hallowe’en gift, or to use for decorations at their Hallowe’en party.”
