A house of great character from the mid-1800s, The Cottage, Lower Lane, is in danger of being demolished to make way for two new homes.
The house, with its steep sloping roof and tall chimneys, is in a conservation area.
In more recent decades it was the home of Wilkinson’s nurseries and shop. Homes are now on the nursery land.
The neighbouring bungalow was also demolished to make way for larger homes.
