EAST Lancashire attractions failed to collect awards at a high-profile tourism evening, despite a raft of nominations.
Organised by the Northwest Regional Development Agency, the Northwest Tourism Awards were hosted by interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen at St Georges Hall in Liverpool.
Accrington Food Festival, Northcote Manor and the Shireburn Arms in Hurst Green had all been nominated but walked away empty handed.
The Taste of England’s Northwest category was won by Roses Tea Room in Merseyside instead of Blackburn’s Northcote.
The title of Tourism Experience of the Year went to the Manchester International Festival rather than the Accrington Food Festival.
Small Hotel of the Year was named as Whitehouse Manor in Macclesfield which beat The Shireburn Arms Hotel in Hurst Green.
