A FOOTBALL match between police officers and teenagers has taken place in a bid to blow the whistle on anti-social behaviour.
The match between neighbourhood police officers and teenagers, in the Trinity area of Burnley took place at Towneley Park as part of the Not in My Neighbourhood initiative.
The 11 a-side friendly resulted in an 8-8 draw.
Community beat manager PC Ian Willis, said: “Sometimes youths are harder to reach because they don’t feel comfortable coming to community meetings or speaking to local officers.
“The football match was designed to build bridges with local teenagers and to get to know them and their concerns a little better.
“The teenagers who took part have actually asked if we can make the matches a regularly occurrence.”
