BLACKBURN’S Poppy Appeal was launched on Saturday with organisers hoping to top last year’s total of £45,000 raised locally.
The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal got underway at The Mall in Blackburn town centre.
Members are hoping to boost their target by raffling off a Blackburn Rovers shirt from November 2003, with a commemorative poppy stitched onto the front.
It will be raffled, along with other prizes, on November 15.
