A GROUP of Burnley fans showed off their football skills – and some nifty underwear – on national TV on Saturday morning.

Kevin Robinson, Will O’Neill, Gerard Stephenson, Allan Phillipson, Steven Wynne, James Wynne, Richard Davies and Brad Mansell were invited to appear on Sky Sports’ popular Soccer AM show where they took their place in the famed Luther Blissett Stand as fans of the week.

And the eight lads, all members of Burnley Supporters Team, paid homage to Clarets striker Robbie Blakes by dropping their shorts to reveal Bad Beat Bob underpants, exact replicas of those he displayed after scoring against Coventry City last Tuesday.

Kevin, the team’s secretary, said: “It was a fantastic experience.

"The atmosphere on set is something else, everyone is just having a real laugh which puts you at ease.

“Everyone was really friendly with us and made us feel really welcome."

As well as chatting with hosts Helen Chamberlain and Max Rushden, the Burnley fans had the chance to meet guests, QPR player Rowan Vine, actor and magician Andy Nyman and indie band The Pigeon Detectives.

Captain Will said: “All the guests were brilliant with us.

"We were told to be really noisy when they were coming on and they all seemed to play along.

"Andy Nyman really got into the swing of things and it was great to meet the likes of him and The Pigeon Detectives.

“The hospitality from Sky was first class from start to finish and we couldn’t really have asked for anymore from them.”

The lads also took part in the Road to Rome feature during which fans have a minute to fire as many balls as possible through a hole 20 yards away.

They managed to score five which, whilst not enough to de-throne the Blackburn Rovers fans who sit pretty at the top of the leaderboard with eight, puts them third so far this season.

Kevin added: “On our practice for Road to Rome we only got three in about five minutes, so I’m glad we did better on the show."
