Rosegrove resident Francis Barton, who attends St Mary Magdalene’s RC Church, completed an 80-mile cycle ride in aid of CAFOD, the Catholic Agency For Overseas Missions Development.
He was joined by former national cycling record holder Judith Glover on his bike ride from St Mary’s Church to the cathedral in Lancaster. He set off at 9am and was back in time for Mass at 5.30pm.
On arrival at Lancaster the pair were invited to ring the bells and climbed 150 steps. They raised more than £200.
