A NEW county council officer’s arrival could see a raft of long-standing village green campaigns finally resolved in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
No fewer than four applications are outstanding at County Hall from the three boroughs.
Land at Irwell Vale, Waterbarn in Stacksteads and to the south of Booth Road, Waterfoot, and off Liverpool Road, Burnley, have all been the subject of village green bids.
Now the authority is to appoint a commons registration officer, which should see the issues sorted out sooner rather than later.
