A POLICE initiative to make pubs and clubs safer has been launched.
The Best Bar None Scheme for 2008 is targeting clubs, bars and pubs who can apply for an industry recognised accreditation.
The aim is to ensure these places prove they act responsibly and are committed to safety for their customers.
Chief Inspector Val Prince said: “Best Bar None continues to grow and each year we get more entries.
"We’ve also made it easier to apply for accreditation this year.”
The police, fire service and the local authority will carry out assessments on applicants and those successful will be notified at the end of the joint inspection.
