A WOMAN has spoken of her shock after she sat down for a cup of tea and a car almost drove into her living room.
Christine Douglas had just settled on her settee at 9.50am on Saturday when a Renault Megane crashed into the front of her home in Bolton Road, Blackburn.
The car had been involved in a collision with another and had ended up smashing into the terraced house.
Christine said: “I was just about to start my cup of tea when I heard a loud bang and then the window went through. The car knocked in some of the brick work and destroyed the television, which was under the window.
“There was an old woman sitting in the driver’s seat but she seemed OK.
"My daughters were upstairs and came running down. I just couldn’t believe it. It left me shaking.”
Police and fire crews removed the car from the front garden and the elderly driver, who was unharmed, was taken home.
