OVER 70 walkers from the Valley and beyond took part in the second Rural Rossendale Walking Festival.
Walks with food themes were set for people of all abilities and some were oversubscribed.
Organisers now hope that some of the walks will become permanent routes at future walking festivals.
The Wind Turbine and Whisky Trail was the most popular walk, with 26 people talking part.
Moira Mitchell, treasurer of the Rural Rossendale Trust said: “One of the aims of the festival is to put Rossendale on the map and it certainly achieved that.
