TWO teenagers have appeared in court after a Blackburn pensioner was knocked unconscious during an alleged attack.

Raymond Tennant, 77, was left with a fractured jaw, broken teeth and gashes to his head following the incident last weekend in an area of grass known as the “Rec” between Hollin Bridge Street and Aqueduct Road in Blackburn.

Steven Jepson, 19, of Exeter Street, Blackburn and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with assault.

They were remanded in custody.
