A BURNLEY pub has raised more than £200 for a Pendle charity by running a special bike raffle.

The recently refurbished Prairie, in Keswick Road, sold raffle tickets for the state-of-the-art mountain bike and a range of drinks, to raise a total of £228.58 for Pendleside Hospice, based at Reedley.

Landlady Sue Williams, said: “At The Prairie we want to support the local community and our chosen charity is Pendleside. We aim to support Pendleside Hospice in other future events.”

The money raised will help the hospice provide care to local people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

Current annual running costs exceed £2.4m, with more than £1.6m of that having to be raised from donations.
