LANCASHIRE County Council is proposing a series of changes to parking in Moor Lane, Clitheroe.
Under the plans, on-street parking would be moved to the left hand side of the one-way street and loading bays, disabled parking and a bus stop are also being considered.
Work is under way to widen the path on the right-hand side of the street to allow more room for pedestrians.
But shopkeepers have been angered by the plans which could result in double yellow lines on the right as they believe they could affect business.
Traders are worried that the scheme would lead to a loss of parking.
