A MOTHER and daughter were "very lucky" not to have been harmed after a candle started a fire at their home.
The blaze began at 7am in the bathroom of a house in Ellis Street, Burnley.
The room on the first floor, near to where the pair were sleeping, was severly damaged and the rest of the upstairs of the property was heavily smoke-logged after the candle was left unattended.
The mother and daughter were woken by a smoke detector and fire crews say that they were “very lucky” to escape uninjured.
