LANCASHIRE councils will get help from an emergency team of finance experts as they look to recover money from a stricken Icelandic bank.
Last week it was revealed authorities across the county had invested £13million in the ailing Landsbanki bank, including a £9million deposit by Lancashire County Council.
Now the government has announced a “rapid response unit” of local authority finance experts to help town halls recover the cash.
Ministers and town hall chiefs will meet again today to try and find a way around the crisis, which affects almost £800million of council cash across the country.
