A LANDLADY in Darwen is appealing for a local ‘child in need’ who will benefit from some charity funds.
Karen Lee, from the Mill Gap Hotel in Darwen, says that she is planning to host a charity event.
But says that she needs somebody to come forw-ard and prove that they would benefit from the fundraising help.
She said:”Local busin-esses have offered to donate prizes and we plan to raise lots of cash. We want to raise as much money as possible to help a local child.There are lots of children who need help, so we are appealing for families or carers to come forward, and nominate a child they think deserves it.
“I would prefer to make a difference on a more personal level and help somebody local rather than send money to a big organization.”
