A POLICE community support officer was bitten and punched while trying to restrain a suspect.
The community support officer had to have hospital treatment for bite wounds on his forearm and torso following the incident at Blackburn Railway Station.
.The officer had stopped a suspect at around 6pm on Friday as he believed he had carried out two earlier assaults.
But the PCSO was bitten and punched in the face, police said.
The PCSO was treated at Royal Blackburn Hospital and returned to duty the following day.
A 16-year-old boy from Colne has been charged with three counts of assault in connection with the incident and the two other alleged assaults.
