A KNIFE-WIELDING thug has admitted a series of offences in Haslingden.
Anthony Nuttall, 20, of Back Beehive Terrace, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating, possessing an offensive weapon and affray on June 19.
The defendant alarmed residents on Cross Street North when he started waving two knives in the air at around 12.20am.
He held siege to the street for at least 40 minutes, police said.
Armed police were sent in after alarmed residents reported hearing the man shouting and swearing.
Police were also threatened during the incident.
Witness David Dewhurst, from Cross Street North, said he heard a barrage of bad language before a car banged into his wall.
Nuttall is due to appear for sentencing on November 10.
