PRIMARY children have impressed Ofsted inspectors with how much they enjoy school because they feel “safe and happy”.
St Luke and St Philip’s School in Hancock Street, Blackburn, was praised for “working hard to raise standards”.
The school’s headteacher Pamela Scott said: “Inspectors found our school to be a happy place with relationships built on trust and respect, recognising that everyone at school is working hard to raise standards.
“Our 2008 results are the best ever, with 86 per cent of children achieving level 4 in English at KS2, the highest the school has had for many years.”
The inspectors thought the school could imrpove helping pupils to make faster progress to reach higher grades.
