POLICE have renewed an appeal for witnesses after a “terrifying” sex assault in Colne.

A 30-year-old woman was followed into toilets at the town’s bus station and was attacked by a man on September 9.

Detectives have revealed two men were arrested in connection with the incident but they have since been released without charge.

Det Insp Derek Jones, from Pendle CID, said: “The investigation is ongoing. We are appealing for information and we are still talking to the victim.

“Two men were detained previously but they have now been eliminated from the inquiry.”

Last month, police released an Evofit of the sex fiend after spending hours interviewing the victim.

The attacker is described as a clean-shaven white man with short, blond hair. He is said to have had a mark or scar on the back of his head.

He was 6ft tall, of medium build and had broad shoulders.

He was wearing a white zip-up hooded top or jacket with a blue cross pattern and blue jeans with rips down the legs.
