A MAN was chased off the street into a house and hit in the face with a brick, police said.

The 33-year-old ran into a property in Randall Street, Burnley, after being followed by several men at around 9.30pm on Friday.

Det Sgt Vinny De Curtis, from Burnley CID, said: “It appears that the man was hit in the face with a brick and he sustained a nasty fracture around his cheek.

“Afterwards, the men made their getaway and we were contacted.”

The 33-year-old was yesterday being treated at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Meanwhile, detectives spent Saturday interviewing a 17-year-old boy in relation to the incident.

He was later released on police bail.
