A 28-year-old woman bombarded her former ‘mother-in-law’ with late night phone calls after the relationship with her son broke down.
Blackburn magistrate heard Michelle Cowell continued making the calls even after police had given her an official warning.
The court heard shortly after the relationship ended Cowell was given a caution for damaging a car belonging to his partner’s mother. Cowell, of St Oswald’s Road, Knuzden, pleaded guilty to harassing Tracy Adams. She was given 12 months community supervision and a two-year restraining order.
Liz Parker, defending, said there was a degree of provocation. “There are always two sides to the story, especially when a relationship ends,” she added.
