HIGHER education students at Blackburn College have been praised at an awards ceremony.

Hundreds were last night presented with their degrees, and special subject prizes were also handed out at the college's Higher Education Awards Evening.

College principal Ian Clinton said: “This is a major event in the college’s calendar when we celebrate the achievements of students from many different curriculum areas.

“The Higher Education provision is significant at Blackburn College – about 20 per cent of all our courses and programmes are designated as Higher Education.

“The college is pleased to have excellent partnership arrange-ments with a number of universities both local and national.

“We are always concerned to provide the best for our students and it gives all the staff at the college enormous pleasure to see the success of our students recognised in this presentation of degrees and diplomas.

“We congratulate them on their achievements and wish each and every one of them a happy and successful future and hope that they will keep in touch with us as we would be delighted to hear about the continued success of our former students.”
