POLICE are searching for the drivers of two vehicles following a car smash that killed a 19-year-old man.
Andrew Taylor, from the Brunshaw area of Burnley, died when the Ford Mondeo he was travelling in crashed into steel barriers in Blackburn Road, Clayton-le-Moors, at 6pm on Saturday.
Accident investigators have spoken to the occupants of a red vehicle which stopped at the scene of the crash but drove off before police arrived.
They are still trying to trace the drivers of an Audi A5 and a white van which were seen on the road about the time of the crash.
Police said Andrew, a former pupil at Gawthorpe High School, Padiham, was a front-seat passenger in the Mondeo.
Officers think the car lost control on a right-hand bend just after the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and collided with barriers on the other side of the road.
Andrew was pronounced dead at the scene and a 19-year-old back-seat passenger from Burnley suffered minor injuries.
The 37-year-old driver of the car, from Hyndburn, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was bailed until tomorrow.
Call police with information on 01254 51212.
