THE OWNER of a Darwen newsagents says he is being blighted by youths who constantly set fire to a waste bin outside his shop.

Faruk Patel, 42, says that the bin outside Sudell News on Sudell Road, has been destroyed by fire at least four times in the last couple of months.

He said: “It happens at night and the bin is right outside the shop.

“The youths congregate, tip the contents of the bin all over the place, and set it on fire.

“It’s an eyesore outside the shop and a health and safety risk as far as I’m concerned. It’s quite disgusting.

“I want the bin removed from outside the shop and put it across the street.

“I am concerned that one day they won’t just set the bin on fire, but my shop as well.”
