The most recent fund-raiser was a sponsored run and walk which raised around £3,500 for deprived chldren in South Africa, following a trip there by staff in February.
Other charities the school has donated to include Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley, Barnados, and Oxfam.
Headteacher Robin Campbell said: “This is a superb effort and is testament to the caring and supportive ethos shown by the children and staff of Pleckgate.
“In a society which often derides the actions of the youth of today, I am proud to be associated with young people who demonstrate such a tremendous spirit of citizenship and concern for other less fortunate than themselves.”
