THREE community groups in Rossendale have been given grants from the Lancashire Local’s Climate Change Fund.
St Anne’s Church, Edgeside, was given £14,500 to-wards heated flooring and separate kitchen/bathroom areas to cut running costs.
The 2nd Rossendale Scout Group got £15,000 and St Peter’s Church, Haslingden, was given £13,000 towards zoned heating systems and refurbishment.
The projects got the cash by showing how they were reducing greenhouse gas emissions or helping the community to cope with climate change.
County council leader Hazel Harding said: “I would like to see the organisations now educate about climate change – getting the message across in any way we can.”
Coun Gladys Sandiford said: “It is grants that make all the difference.”
