Families from across Pendle turned out to make Colne’s Christmas lights switch on one of the best ever.
The event featured Britain’s Got Talent runner up Jack Rhodes, Coronation Street favourite Antony Cotton, performances from Accrington Pipe Band, a giant snow globe, rodeo reindeer, Santa’s grotto, fun fair rides and festive stilt walkers.
The main stage line-up saw a brilliant variety of entertainment, hosted by Gavin Young, including live music from Andrew Gilmour and Claudia Thompson, dance performances from Encore Dance School and Pendle Academy of Dance and theatre productions from Stage Door Youth Theatre and Pendle Hippodrome Youth Theatre.
The finale featured a 'Frozen sing-along', a magic show with Jack and the switch on with Antony.
The event also saw the return of the torch-lit procession, led by Santa in his sleigh.
Chairman of Colne Town Council, Cllr. Mary Thomas said: “Colne Christmas lights switch on 2024 was definitely one to remember, the high street was packed and it has a really buzzing atmosphere across the whole day!”
Colne Town Council’s event officer, Nathan Cutler, said: “This year’s event was fantastic with families coming far and wide to enjoy the festivities, plans are well under way for next year’s Christmas lights switch on and we cannot wait to do it all over again”
