One lane of a busy Blackburn junction has been closed so a water leak can be fixed.
A section of Preston New Road and Montague Street junction was shut to traffic. Drivers can still turn left but will have to wait in a single lane.
There are also delays for traffic heading in the opposite direction with a a section cordoned off.
The roadworks are likely to cause long delays for drivers at one of the town’s busiest junctions which serves the town centre and people heading into and out of town.
The water leak was first discovered in early October.
It comes on the same day as temporary traffic lights were installed at the other end of Montague Street at the bottom of the hill.
