The family-run Jaan’s Restaurant have had the grand opening of their new restaurant in Preston.

The restaurant is based on New Hall Lane, opposite the Texaco petrol station and opened to the public for the first time on Saturday night.

It is the third Jaan’s to open following a launch in Bolton on the corner of Blackburn Road and Waters Meeting Road last year. The Blackburn Jaan’s is based off the corner of Charlotte Street in the heart of Brookhouse.

The Preston restaurant, which seats 120 people, is part of the Jaan’s brand which is co-run by brothers Saadullah and Hamdullah Waseem.

Preston mayor Cllr Phil Crowe was joined by former mayors Yakub Patel and Blackburn’s Hussain Akhtar at an opening ceremony on Friday.

Special guests and family members took part in the ribbon cutting before short prayers were said.

The interior of the restaurant has had a major makeover with new seating installed and the Jaan’s branding across both floors.

The mayor was joined by family members and special guests at a launch eventSaad said: “I would like to thank everyone who came to the opening ceremony and for the Mayor for his kind comments.

“The location is really important for us and both this restaurant and the Bolton one are on the main roads.

“This restaurant is bigger than the one in Blackburn but smaller in terms of seats that the Bolton one.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming people from the city of Preston.”

The family-run business has restaurants in three prime locationsThe new Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC) certified Jaan’s is based on the spot of a former Steakhouse.

The restaurant is famous for its ‘tawas’, which includes a variety of starters and main meals on one large circular tray. This summer, the Blackburn branch also launched an Asian breakfast buffet on weekends.

Saad said: “We will have 60 seats downstairs and a further 60 upstairs. I don’t think there is anything similar to us in the city so we are hoping to bring something new.”
