The annual Christmas market will be returning this weekend in Ramsbottom.

The Ramsbottom Christmas Cracker will be taking place on Sunday, December 1 between 11am to 3.30pm.

There will be a Makers Market in the Civic Hall, Santa and his friends will be around the Urn and the Dickensian Market will be based in St Paul’s Gardens.

Local business owners are urging people to shop locally this festive season.

Ramsbottom Civic Pride will be holding their Dickensian stall and will be holding a tombola with a range of prizes on offer.

Ramsbottom Cllr Gareth Staples-Jones said: “Myself, Councillors Pilkington and Cummins have been promoting and organising our Christmas themed makers market on the 1 December and we’re looking forward to welcoming families on the day.

“As councillors we’ve continued through the year with Ramsbottom Events Group to organise days like this to help attract footfall and bring people together in their town.

“We’ll have a Makers market, Father Christmas and friends and there will be a Christmas Dickensian theme with fun atmosphere!”

Over the next few weekends other events like wreath making will be at Ramsbottom Civic Hall on December 6 and Besses O’Th Barn Brass Band will be performing a Christmas show at Ramsbottom Civic Hall on December 8.
