Roadworks on the main route through Darwen have been completed.
There were long delays for drivers on works at the junction of the A666 Blackburn Road and Avondale Road due to work being conducted on the gas mains.
The temporary traffic lights were due to be lifted on Thursday following a week of tailbacks for motorists.
The Blackburn with Darwen Roads team said the work had now been completed ahead of schedule.
Blackburn Road is the main road through Darwen.
Further roadworks on Sandy Lane were also due to be lifted today.
