The producer of a spy thriller shot in Colne said it was a ‘real honour’ filming on the streets of his hometown.

Sabir Hussain, also known as Saby Khan, said he had finished his short movie which is now going through post-production and will be submitted to film festivals across the world.

The film Show of Doubt is about a Pakistani man who gets arrested but he is actually a police officer investigating Russian spies.

He said: “It has been a great honour to do part shooting in Colne for the short movie as we don't get much media activity across Lancashire with up-and-coming film producers.

“The short film will help me bring out more local talent in Lancashire and will inspire more young people to locally produced films.

“We had a great company who did the production - Obverse Film from Leeds, which is run by Bob Jordan. This production was a joint Lancashire and Yorkshire collaboration.

“I am hoping to shoot more short films across Lancashire later next year and organise workshops in Nelson College with young artists and musicians.”

Artwork for the Shadow of Doubt short film was provided by Gayle Hiller of Hyde Park Arts London.

Shadow of Doubt will be released next summer, Saby said.

He has previously been honoured with the Prime Minister's Points of Lights award and the Unsung Heroes Award for his 25 years of involvement in the arts and entertainment industry.
