There was joy in the air on a gloomy Monday morning for residents in Blackburn after a win in the People's Postcode Lottery.
East Lancashire saw lots of wins last week with players in Accrington, Padiham, and Whalley winning a share of the jackpot.
Now, those in in the Mill Hill area of Blackburn with a BB2 2RB postcode got the week off to a great start with their own success.
The winning ticket covers Mill Hill Street, close to Mill Hill railway station, and players with a ticket secured the £1,000 jackpot for today (Monday, November 25).
Subscriptions to the postcode lottery support a range of charities across the UK, with a minimum of 33 per cent of the ticket prices going to charity.
The People’s Postcode Lottery manages lotteries for 20 charities, with each one having one draw a month.
The lottery is hugely popular nationally and supports "a wide range of charities and good causes across Britain and around the world".
To date, they’ve provided more than £1.1 billion in funding which is helping thousands of organisations and projects.
