It is not the first time police have cracked down on untaxed vehicles in the area.

More than 20 cars and vans were seized as part of a police “bin the bangers” operation, in Accrington.

The vehicles were seized across the Bridge Street area.

Police say that a total of 21 were seized, four of them for obstruction, on for unnecessary obstruction for a highway and 16 for having no tax or MOT.

Officers say that the narrow street, with cars parked on both sides, hindered the movement of larger vehicles and limited parking options in the area.
