A man who intentionally strangled a woman has been slapped with a community order.
Matthew Loughlin, 30, appeared for sentencing at Burnley Crown Court on Wednesday (November 20) having gone on trial for a range of offences.
Loughlin, of Newfield Drive, Nelson, appeared in court over criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon, common assault, two counts of theft, affray, and assault by beating, as well as the strangulation offence.
The offences happened on March 23.
Loughlin was given a 12-month community order, a six-month restraining order against the victim, and was ordered to complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
