An up-and-coming singer-songwriter is excited to be showcasing his talents in his hometown as part of a live music revival.
Jack Watkins will be appearing alongside fellow artistes Jacob Reddy and John Witherspoon at the The Bureau Centre for the Arts in Blackburn tomorrow, Saturday.
The triple-header at the Exchange Street venue is part of the Arts Council backed Blackburn gigs programme, designed to breathe new life into the town's nightlife.
Jack, on Facebook, said: "(I'm) excited to say I’ll be performing next Saturday at The Bureau in Blackburn.
"This special event is part of an Arts Council funded programme by Actual Musci aimed at bringing more live music to Blackburn, my hometown.
"I’ll be sharing songs from my debut album, and might throw a surprise cover or two in there as well."
The classically-trained pianist, who fuses acoustic instruments, electronic synths and soulful vocals, released two EPs, Light In The Dark and Infinity Inside, in 2022 and 2023, with the former reaching the top 10 in the iTunes charts.
He secured his first solo headlining slot at Clitheroe Grand and released his debut album, Wonderland, in September, following a series of singles.
Indie-pop dynamo Jacob Reddy, another Blackburn lad, is returning from a countrywide tour to join the bill.
He released a new EP, 'The Streets Are Ours' at the start of the month and has been performing in Liverpool, Manchester, Cheltenham and Leeds before returning home.
Award-winning Jacob, already a veteran of the Glastonbury Festival, is another supporter of the Blackburn Gigs push, pledging to bring "a full set of originals" on the night.
Fellow singer-songwriter John Witherspoon, whose talents are inspired by Dylan and The Beatles, combined with the nostalgic sounds of 90s Britpop, completes the line-up.
Tickets are available online via the ticketsource website or people can pay on the door.
