A slew of new electric vehicle (EV) charging points have been installed in various car parks throughout Rossendale.
The 30 charging points became fully operational on November 15 as part of the council's commitment to a cleaner, greener borough.
Costing £318,000, the project was made possible with the help of funding from the Department of Transport and guidance from the Energy Saving Trust.
The charging points were officially opened by rugby league legend Martin Offiah, who is a brand ambassador for Connected Kerb, a leader in EV charging solutions.
Mr Offiah said: "I'm thrilled to see Rossendale leading the way in sustainable transport.
"These new charge points will not only help reduce emissions and improve air quality, but they will also contribute to a more sustainable and vibrant community."
Most of the new charging points have the ability to charge two EVs, offering drivers a total of 52 charging bays.
These are located at Waterfoot, Bacup, and Haslingden.
Kwabena Poku, climate change programme officer at Rossendale Council, said: "This is a significant step forward in our journey towards a greener and more sustainable Rossendale.
"By investing in EV charging infrastructure, we are making it easier for our residents to switch to electric vehicles and reduce their carbon footprint."
All EV charging bays are now available for public use.
They are designed to be accessible and convenient for EV users, ensuring a seamless experience for drivers across the borough.
