Two Blackburn restaurants have been named amongst the best in the country at a curry awards in London.
The Asian Curry Awards took place over the weekend at the lavish Grosvenor House in Park Lane.
Winners and finalists are judged by the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) and this year’s ceremony was hosted by newsreader and TV host Samantha Simmonds.
From the Northwest, there were two winners from Lancashire, both from Blackburn.
Kebabish Original Blackburn, which is based on the corner of Whalley New Road and Whalley Range, was named Casual Dining Restaurant of The Year.
Meanwhile, the Asian Fusion Restaurant of The Year (North West) honour went to MyLahore which is based in Whitebirk.
Both restaurants in the past year have picked up some of the biggest national curry awards.
The Kebabish is run by Arif Amin and Zafar Iqbal. Arif was at the awards to pick up the prize.
He said: “It is great for the restaurant and great for the town to be amongst some really big restaurants.
“We would like to everyone who supports us and all the great comments.
“People have their favourite dishes and it is great to see new people all the time.”
Ishfaq Farooq and Bilal Ahmed run the MyLahore Restaurant.
Bilal told us: “A huge thank you to our loyal customers and amazing team members as without them this would not be possible.
“It is great to be recognised and we love to serve the people of Blackburn and the surrounding areas.”
