A country lane has been completely closed off following a road traffic collision this morning.
Police are currently investigating the scene and are asking residents to avoid using Hollowhead Lane in Wilpshire.
Officers have confirmed one vehicle was involved and the incident was a damage only crash, however oil on the road has been cited as the reason for the closure.
The road, which can be used as a cut-through from Parsonage to Ribchester Road has been closed from Parsonage Road to Whalley Road.
Delays are building along Whalley Road heading southbound, as users must now cover the whole of the main road to reconnect with Parsonage Road.
On Facebook Blackburn with Darwen Police said: "We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Hollowhead Road Wilpshire.
"As a result, the road is closed entirely from Parsonage Road to Whalley Road. Please avoid the area and we will provide an update when we can."
