Police made a surprising discovery after a driver parked illegally, outside the front of a Higham school.
Officers were called to Higham St Johns Primary School, on Higham Hall Road, after complaints of parking issues around the school at closing time.
According to police, the driver initially refused to move but eventually moved his vehicle 20 meters down the street.
A further check on the police national computer found that the vehicle was uninsured and that the driver had not renewed his licence following a “previous disqualification”.
The Audi vehicle was seized.
A police spokesperson said: “Neighbourhood officers attended Higham St Johns Primary School, to assist with complaints of parking issues around the school at closing time.
“One such driver decided to park over a resident’s driveway, next to the no parking a-frames and was politely asked to move down the road a few metres.
“The driver eventually moved his vehicle 20 metres down the street and parked legally. A further check on the police national computer found that his driving of the vehicle was not so legal.
“He had not insured his own vehicle or renewed his driving license after a previous disqualification. One vehicle seizure for no insurance later.”
