A leading homebuilder has been announced as the lead sponsor for an upcoming 10k race.
Barratt Homes is sponsoring the Blackburn 10k event, organised by RunThrough, which will take place on Sunday, December 8, starting at 9.30am.
The race will begin and end at Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park, taking runners through Blackburn town centre.
The Blackburn End will be open for spectators, with music, food, and entertainment.
It is held with the support of Blackburn with Darwen Council in aid of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
Ryan Loftus, events, partnerships, and facilities manager at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, said: "It’s great that we can host the Blackburn 10k once again this year, with the race starting and finishing at Ewood Park.
"It has been a very successful event over the past few years and it always brings the community together, so for Ewood Park to play an important part in the day, it makes it even more special.
"We can’t wait to welcome everyone for what I am sure will be a fantastic day."
Alan Watt, sales director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: "We are so proud of our team for helping to organise the Blackburn 10k and are delighted to see a large number of participants with approximately 1,500 people having signed up so far, including 20 members of our team at Barratt Homes.
"We are so excited for the event to take place, and would encourage all participants to ensure they take in the fantastic town of Blackburn during the race.
"It is a wonderful place and we are certain that the strong community spirit will be on display on the day."
The move from Barratt comes as it continues to work on its Bernets Nook development in Feniscowles.
The Barratt team are running in aid of Andy's Man Club, set up in 2016 in memory of Andrew Roberts, is a national charity with more than 150 sessions across the country dedicated to suicide prevention and men's mental health taking place weekly.
