A former Accrington Stanley stadium announcer and trust board member has been found guilty on three counts following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
Joshua Adcroft, of Antley Street, Accrington, was found guilty by a jury of false imprisonment, assault by beating and assault causing actual bodily harm.
He had denied all charges, but following a trial earlier this month guilty verdicts were delivered and is due to be sentenced on December 12.
Adcroft, 31, was acquitted of three additional charges, including a count of sharing a photograph or film of a person in an intimate state without consent – better known as revenge porn - as well as additional assault and false imprisonment charges.
He previously stood as a supporter’s trust board member at Accrington Stanley, and joined the board members when they were presented with a King’s Award for voluntary service in January.
He was also a familiar voice for fans on matchday as the stadium announcer.
An agenda from the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Trust's annual general meeting on August 22 informed attendees that Adcroft had resigned from the board.
It is believed he was removed from the announcing role by the club towards the end of last season.
In October an Accrington Stanley FC spokesperson said: “Josh stopped working for Accrington Stanley as PA announcer in April 2024.
"That's the last contact we had with him."
Adcroft is set to be sentenced on Thursday, December 12, at Manchester Crown Court.
