Police have seized bags of drugs from pubs and bars across Accrington in a sweep of the town.
Officers from the police licensing team, the Special Constabulary and student development were out in Great Harwood and Accrington last night, Friday, with their sniffer dogs, Zola and Butcher.
They visited several licensed premises across the borough to target individuals taking drugs on a night out with them.
Illegal substances were recovered from two premises and one person was arrested on suspicion of obstructing officers, while several people were subject to stop and search checks.
A police spokesperson said: “The supply and use of controlled drugs in licensed premises will not be tolerated, and we will continue these operations across East Lancashire in the coming weeks and will take positive action against anyone found with drugs.
“We aim to ensure the night time economy is a safe environment for all those who simply want to go out and enjoy themselves and not be bothered by those under the influence of drugs.”
