A man involved in a fight with another man left his victim lying face down in a pool of blood.

Blackburn magistrates heard Teejay Walker was caught on CCTV repeatedly punching the other man who was left with fractures to his left and right jaw bones.

Walker, 30, of Barry Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to wounding Paul Riddle causing him grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Nicola Mills, prosecuting, had been out in Burnley town centre when there was a physical confrontation.

CCTV showed Walker punching Mr Riddle a number of times.

“Police found the victim lying face down in a large pool of blood,” said Miss Mills.

“He was taken to hospital where a CT scan fortunately revealed there was no bleed on the brain.

"His jaw was fractured on the left and right sides.”

Miss Mills said Mr Riddle underwent an operation two days later when metal plates had to be inserted into his jaw.

John Rusius, defending, said doctors believed the victim would make a full recovery.

“I accept the court will need a pre-sentence report,” added Mr Rusius.
