Married At First Sight fans have been left in stitches after a contestant, from Blackburn, revealed the inappropriate and ‘rude’ message her ex-husband sent in a letter.

Amy Kenyon, a former St Wilfrid’s Church of England Academy pupil, married stranger Luke Debono, from Malta, on the E4 reality show.

Sadly, their relationship did not last and Amy announced their separation in a dramatic episode where the couples came to renew the vows, where she dressed entirely in black.

Amy said she wore black to “mourn” their “dead” marriage.

Now Amy has shocked viewers by revealing the “rude” and graphic letter Luke sent to Amy after their separation.

On the show she said: “You sent me a birthday gift with a letter in it. The letter went into depth about how much he missed me and there was a rude comment at the end of it.

“[The letter said] I have no regrets, actually just one. I wish I’d have got down on my knees while you were cooking in the kitchen and terrorised your b*****e."

The comment left other cast members shocked and in stitches.

After being asked about the reason for the comment Luke said: “I wanted [this to be shocking for her] it was a feeling I had. It is a word. I had to choose a word that reflects how I feel.

“Whatever I did from day one was always misunderstood. I was a bit quirky and a non-conformer and I will stop trying to conform.”

Amy said: “I just didn’t understand the motive behind [the letter] after what happened at final vows. That book was closed.”

Amy also expressed regret for announcing her desire to end their marriage in such a dramatic way.

The 27-year-old wedding planner said: “I feel awful. I had so much built-up anger and upset and I needed to get it off my chest. I felt so much better after I did it but watching it back it might have been a little bit savage.

“I have learned how to be patient and have confidence in myself and speak how I feel. Thank you for letting me be able to do that. I think I have grown as a person.”

A Twitter user said: “Tonight's episode was absolutely hilarious. Luke saying he wants to terrorise Amy’s b*****e was hilarious.”

Another said: “Luke and Amy’s final time on the Married At First Sight couch has to be one of the funniest things in [the show’s] history.”

“The way Luke words things gets me every time,” another said.

Amy is not the first East Lancashire contestant to go on the show. Last year, Jay Howard, from Accrington, married Luke Worley on the show.

Sadly, their relationship did not stand the test of time and they later separated.

Jay, who has one arm, has had a lot of success since and was recently named as an ambassador for Reach, a charity that provides support for children with upper limb differences.
