Motorists on the M66 faced miles of traffic delays this morning, Thursday, after a crash.
Greater Manchester Police were called at around 6.50am after a two-vehicle crash on the motorway southbound between junction one for the Summerseat Interchange and two for the Heap Bridge Interchange.
One lane was closed and there were delays of around seven miles.
No injuries were reported.

There was also heavy traffic, with additional queues of around an hour, surrounding roads including the A56 between Edenfield and Ramsbottom.
The motorway lane was then re-opened at around 8.45am while delays continued.
According to Google Maps, there was still congestion at around 9.30am, however, this has now been cleared and traffic is flowing as usual.
