Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist a farmer who had suffered serious injuries after falling.
Last Friday at around 1pm, Pendle and Rossendale Mountain Rescue team were called by North West Ambulance Service to a remote farm where the farmer had fallen from a height and sustained spinal and limb injuries.
The rescue team said: “Paramedics on scene requested the team due to the access and egress to the farm and out of the farmhouse itself.
“The team were mobilised with Mob 1 and other team members responding direct. On arrival we packaged the casualty on a scope and immobilised him fully in our full body vacuum mattress.
“We then used our 4x4 ambulance to negotiate the track to get him safely to the NHS ambulance waiting nearby.
“We wish the gentleman all the best and hope he has a speedy recovery.”
