Firefighters are tackling a city centre blaze with flames and fumes visibly pouring into the sky.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue are in attendance at a derelict building on Church Street in Preston city centre.
Stan Wilson, a Preston resident, said: "I've seen quite a bit of the emergency services in town.
"It's a real worry and quite scary, so we've shut the windows!"
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "At 18:18 on 12 November 2024, four fire engines from Preston, Bamber Bridge and Blackpool, along with the aerial ladder platform were called to a derelict building fire on Church Street, Preston.
"Firefighters are using two jets to tackle the fire and remain in attendance.
"If you can see or smell smoke, please close your windows and doors.
"The drone is in attendance at this incident so please do not fly any drones in the area as you may obstruct emergency operations."
Church Street (between Lancaster Road and Manchester Road), Manchester Road (between Church Street and Shepherd Street) and Shepherd Street up to Rose Street are all closed.
Lancashire Police said: "We are currently assisting Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service following reports of an ongoing fire at a derelict building on Church Street in Preston."
